HC - Tropical Floral

Happy Wednesday! I apologize for missing my Heartfelt Creations post last week. I just didn't have time to get into my studio at all during the week following arriving home from a mission trip to Mexico. And we had emergencies involving one of our foster puppies.

For my project this week, I've used Tropical Floral Swirls and the coordinating Botanical Floral 2 to create layers of beautiful blooms.

Using the dies from Rose Creations by Spellbinders is an ideal way to quickly and easily cut the blooms and foliage.

For the inside of the card I cut some additional flowers and stamped a scripture verse from Trust in the Lord.

I coloured these flowers using copic markers. I chose to not blend the layers of colour, and I like the chunky, primitive look of it. I used pointillism in neutrals for the background of this image.

copics;
foliage; G82, G99, YG67, YG91, YG93, YG97
pink bloom; R22, R24, R27, R29, R59
yellow bloom; YR21, YR23, YR24
orange bloom; YR12, YR14, YR18
background; E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59

stamps; tropical floral swirls, botanical floral swirls 2, trust in the lord (heartfelt creations)
paper; curio (basic grey), fern, white canvas (bazzill)
ink; black soot distress ink (ranger)
accessories; rose creations (spellbinders), dotted swirls border punch (ek success), rhinestone brads (making memories), rhinestones (heidi swapp), copic markers

anything goes challenge blog - pick a bunch of flowers
everybody art - garden
shopping our stash - blooms
dancing in pyjamas - colour challenge
the shabby tea room - relax and enjoy
the crafty pad - embossing (same stylus technique used for the flowers, but they are allowed to curl)
gingerloft - make it sparkle
our creative corner - all the b's (brown, blooms, bling, brads)
totally gorjuss - punch or die

Lovely flowers, I especially love the colors you chose. The 'chunky' technique was kind of a revelation for me - every one goes on so much about their blending that I almost forgot that you don't *have* to! :)

Oh, my gosh, this is stunning! And I love that you didn't blend the colors - I think it "pops" more that way. :)
