WT190 Cracked Wassail

I have some of the new New Wassail paper by Basic Grey. It is stunning for any time of the year. Granted, holly is a seasonal image, but most of the papers in this collection are timeless elegance. The co-ordinating buttons are amazing as well. Cinsistently over the last few years Basic Grey has produced beautiful Christmas papers, but this year they have out-done themselves. Go-Jus!!!

I painted a chipboard tag with crackle paint, layering the colours while wet to create a shadowed effect. Once dry, I stamped the wreath from Winterland on the tag with pigment ink. I tried using classic or dye ink, but it soaked right into the paint. The dye ink image looked worse than old. It looked like a ghost town waiting for a brush fire to put it out of it's misery... *sigh*

I like the shabby chic-ness of this card most attributed by the paper. Okay, I might have said this before, but I love this paper...

stamps; Winterland (basic grey), best yet (SU!)
paper; bazzill brown (bazzill), wassail 6x6 pad (basic grey)
ink; sepia, onyx black archive (tsukineko), espresso (adirondack by ranger)
accessories; goldenberry dew drops (the robin's nest), tea dye, vintage photo, walnut stain crackle paint (ranger), christmas red, copper stickles (ranger), vanilla enamel hardware( SU!), brown twill ribbon (martha stewart)

For my hostess clubs this month I attempted to teach them the differences between shabby chic, distressed and vintage. They made this card in a bit of a vintage style.

stamps; crazy for cupcakes, polka dot (SU!)

paper; pink pirouette, chocolate chip, very vanilla, close to cocoa dp (SU!)

ink; creamy caramel, pink pirouette, close to cocoa, chocolate chip, whisper white (SU!)

accessories; crystal effects, dazzling diamonds, coluzzle, vanilla harware, boho blossoms punch, chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, irridescent ice ep, scallop circles die (SU!)
