I was working on this last night. It was stolen time - I'll admit it. I SHOULD have been working on a grad (prom) dress. I SHOULD have been working on the pile of alterations I have to do. But, I'd been working all day on sewing - a girls sewing class in the morning, grad dress before the class and then all afternoon, supervising a friend who was working on her daughter's grad dress - It was almost a 12 hour work day and I just had to do something refreshing. Refresh my own creativity, my own mind - refresh me.

I did one of my favourite things on this background. I used several stamp pads, working from lightest to darkest applying ink randomly directly from the ink pad. Then I spritz the stamp with water, and stipple the colours intermitently with a stiff stipple brush. Then, stamp. The result is quite fabulous! The colours can become muddy by over mixing, so be careful with that. As long as there are a few spots with the original colour, it looks amazing. For the background I used 4 browns and a green. Very subtle, very nice.

stamps; pretty pattern (CHF)
paper; daisy, brown, yam (bazzill), dp (Kaisercraft)
ink; sandal, latte, hazelnut, oregano (adirondack by ranger)
accessories; bling flowers (bazzill), antique copper brad, small brown flower (making memories), brown twill ribbon (martha stewart), flower charm, hamp (unknown)
