I've been freakin' out busy. Said that already, several times, no doubt! I have a wee - okay, more than wee - stash of stamps that I've bought while I was busy and hadn't had time to use. I've had time to dream about using them, design in my head how I'll use them. Using them in my head has kept me up at night. You know you have an - ahem - issue when stampin' takes over dreamin' at night! I mean literally dreaming of stamping. I know you know what I'm talking about!
This umbrella stamp by whipper snapper was on the top of my design list in my head. I bought this stamp, designed by Anna Wight because it looked so easy for all my ideas falling like those little raindrops. I watercoloured the umbrella - I seem to have a thing for red umbrellas - and used my Sakura glitter pen on the raindrops. The umbrella didn't look wet enough, so I pulled out my trusty crystal effects and slicked that baby! I love it! It didn't occur to me when I used my Cricut to cut out the scalloped square for the sentiment that it looked like a little cloud.
I made this card because the sentiment was right for that day - Colour me blue these days. I posted and hoped that this card, my first for awhile, would get some positive feedback on SCS. Well, colour me shocked instead, because the first comment on my card was from SweetMissDaisy - aka Anna Wight!!! What a lovely, down to earth, person to be happy to see her own stamp used and take the time to leave a comment. That one lovely comment after feeling like I've been in a creative desert was a wonderful oasis.
I'm creating/designing/stamping more now. It's like that saying - If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! Everyone in my family is happy I'm creating more now. More original clothing for my kidlets and myself, more quilts for my walls, and more STAMPING!!! Being creative is a healing balm for my soul...
