Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

Welcome to the February edition of the Heartfelt Creations Alumni blog hop. If you popped by my blog today because it was a lovely way to treat and inspire yourself, thank-you and welcome! I would invite you to join the hop by going to Giovanna's blog to start. If you have arrived here from Amarilys' blog, you are on the right track for the hop today. As you hop along, leave comments on each blog to be entered in a draw for a $25 Heartfelt Creations gift certificate. The lucky winner will be chosen and posted on the hop blogs on Saturday, March 1st.

It was only after I had finished my card and was working on my post that I discovered I used a discontinued stamp for my main image. My sincerest apologies!! In place of this lovely floral cluster(Autumn Corsage), I would recommend using Majestic Morning Blooms, Tattered Blossom Swirls, or several stamps from the Posy Patch Collection.

I stamped my image on kraft paper. Then, I stamped the image an additional 2 times on another piece of kraft paper. I coloured all 3 images and cut out the 2 additional images as shown. I used a stylus from the Paper Blossom Tool kit to work the paper into a dimensional blossom shape. When I adhered the layers back on, I wanted to further the illusion of dimension, so I turned the layers so the were staggered from the layers below rather than matching it like with paper tole.

Before I coloured the base image, I over stamped it using the Large Elegant Word Background stamp. The effect gives a little more life to the image, and it is one of my favourite techniques. I coloured the floral image using prismacolor pencils which hides most of the over stamped font image. I sponged the edges to soften the overall appearance.

To carry on with the hop, please go to Linda's blog, and enjoy her beautiful creation.

stamps; autumn corsage, large elegant word background (heartfelt creations)
ink; espresso adirondack, tea dye, vintage photo, walnut stain distress stain (ranger)
paper; white canvas, ruby, kraft (bazzill), pink damask (life stories by MME)
accessories; half pearls (unknown), prismacolor pencils

Love that it is so simple yet elegant. This I might be able to accomplish. Some of the more elaborate cards are above my abilities. Love its softness.
