I received a box of goodies from i {heart} papers last week. It was hard to get to it with such a bust puppy week going on. However, I grabbed a few quiet hours this morning and used a new to me stamp by the Unity Stamp Co. called A Give Away Love. It is quite a bit larger than I thought it would be measuring in at 4 1/8"x3 1/2" which suit me fine because it's the perfect size for my favourite type of card - 6" square.
I find sentiments are perfect for speedy quick cards because there is no colouring involved. That said, I did colour this stamp with markers so I could highlight the word 'love'. I used my N15 (almost black) tombow marker to colour the words and combined 755 (hot pink) and 905 (pumpkin orange) for love. The hot pink needed a kick of orange to make it a better match for the designer paper I used.
I'm trying to used bolder prints and colours in my paper crafting than I have in the recent past. It really feels like an uncomfortable stretch!!! Hang on for the ride because I will be using more bold papers in the near future.
I happened to have this OLD ribbon lying around and it was a perfect match for the paper. I popped a cute orange flower from Claire Petals and I felt almost like a purr starting up in my creative happy place. With all the bling on the glitter paper for this card, I figured what's a little more bling and used this fancy schmancy button for the flower center.
I pulled out more old ribbon for the little loops at the bottom, and co-ordinated it using orange Curio buttons. A couple of tiny rhinestones finish the look by echoing the fancy button.
stamps; a give away love (unity stamps)
paper; mango frost (DCWV), white canvas, coconut swirl (bazzill)
accessories; tombow markers, buttons nostalgic clear (bazzill), curio buttons (basic grey), claire petals (sei), ribbon (american crafts elements), embroidery floss, bow easy
