Well, I think I've gotten over my black phobia. Indeedie doodle, I'm sure of it. I wanted to make an elegant card this week for Heartfelt Creations and nothing speaks to elegant quite as well as clean, sharp black and white.
I decided to add a little ice blue to the mix for a subtle pop of colour. I like the way it lightens the look of the card. I used vellum over the blac stripe because it is such a strong pattern that it was over powering on the card and I want the sentiment to be the focal point, not the stripes.
I used a pale blue chalk ink to stamp the flourish under the sentiment - it's a favourite effect of mine. I'm not sure I'm so fond of all the pearls, but I do like the way they accent the flourish. It's too bad I couldn't figure a way to make it appear more symmetrical...
Do take a peek at the Heartfelt Creations blog for the instructions to make this card and see what the rest of the very talented design team created this week.

Wonderful card, Loretta! Brilliant to use the vellum to mute the impact of the black and I really love you technique of using the pale blue chalk ink for the flourish!
Wishing you and your family a blessed New Year full of happiness and good health!
Hugs,
Linda
