Believe Shadow Box

One of my favourite gifts to make is to take a 6" square card and build it up to make a 9" square wall art shadow box.  I purchase my shadow boxes from Ikea, and they only come in black and white.  I'd love to have other colours, so I might need to explore the possibility of painting a white shadow box.  I created this shadowbox for Heartfelt Creations and I invite you to check out the projects made by the design team on the blog.

Cut dark red cardstock 6" square and cardstock layers 1/8" smaller for each layer added. Cut 2 pattern paper s trips 5 5/8"x 3" and sponge edges. Attach to slightly larger cardstock base, overlapping in the center. Attach all base layers except 6" layer. Attach ribbon, then adhere all layers to 6" square layer.

 Stamp image slightly turned on white cardstock and colour with the following copic markers;

Pine and background: BG93, 96, 99
Pinecones: E70, 71, 74, 77, 79
Acorns: E30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39
Bow/Berries: R12, 24, 37, 39
Blossoms: Y32, 35, 38
Foliage: YG91, 93, 95, 97, 99 over coloured with YR21 using R08, 17, 27 reinkers

Stamp and colour 2nd wreath and cut out, mounting straight on image cardstock to give the wreath the appearance of depth and dimension. Sponge edges and attach image to card base using dimensionals.

 Stamp sentiment on cardstock and add texture using picket fence stickles and E30, 31, 33, 34, 35 copics, Cut notch out of ends and attach to wreath. Embellish with self adhesive rhinestones.

{Insert contented sigh}  This took a long time to colour, but the end product really was worth it!!!!

Wow, Loretta! This is absolutely gorgeous! Amazing coloring work and matting the colored image. This would be a lovely Christmas gift, 100x better than anything anyone can buy in a store!
