Chicken Girl Designs September release

It's release day for Chicken Girl Designs!!!  Check out the September digis;

September Collection (digi)

Perfect for September, right?  And so much fun!  I used Scarecrow Greetings for my card;

This summer while we were on holidays, I saw a stunning little watercolour in the National Gallery in Ottawa, Ontario done in sepia tones.  I stood and just stared at it, so beautiful in it's simplicity.  It was a little scene done in the early 1800's of the Ottawa River Valley and I was mezmerized by the way the artist captured movement in the Ottawa River without using a whole palette of colours.  *insert contented sigh*

I tried to capture the same feel with my copic markers, but it really reminds me of the black and white portion of 'The Wizard of Oz' instead!!!  I used my full range of warm greys to colour this scarecrow, and decided to add a pop of colour with the pumpkin.

The pattern paper is from SEI's new line called, Spooks - a wonderful Halloween line which has sparkle and glam in a ghoulish kinda way.  I just love the ghost paper - I'll use it in the next couple of weeks - because it has a lot of alteration potential.  It has an ivory background and ghosts clear embossed all over the paper.  I'm thinking any number of emboss resist techniques to really jazz it up!

Check out the rest of the release projects here;

stamps; scarecrow greetings (chicken girl design by i {heart} papers)
paper; spooks (sei), blackberry, yam, coconut swirl (bazzill)
ink; pumice stone distress ink (ranger)
accessories; mini black clothes pin (canvas corps), rectangle and deckle rectangle nesties (spellbinders), copic markers

The sepia is awesome! And I love the "Oz" reference! My daughter's HS is doing that musical in October and she plays the Wicked Witch! Super cute, Loretta~

oh Loretta!
This is just stunning. I'm amazed how you can create a monochromatic scene. I can't do that!

OMGosh, what a completely fabulous idea! I LOVE this guy with just the pumpkin in color, and LOVE the comparison to the B&W portion of the Wizard of Oz! Fantastic design!
