I got a phone call early this morning. "There been another disaster..." An AARCS volunteer called and told me that there was a mom dog shot. Someone rescued her 8 pups yesterday and tried to surrender them to our local SPCA, but the Humane society couldn't take them because they didn't have available foster care or ability for 24 hour care so these precious puppies were going to be euthanized today. I'm such a baby, I started to cry!
"Do you know anyone who could take them?" I said I was sure I did, and he could bring them over as soon as he could. I say yes if I can and will help in a New York minute.
*sshhhhh* don't tell anyone that I have 15 puppies in my house. Snow White and the boys are in the dog run and they'll go up for adoption in 10 days or so. These new puppies will be in the laundry room for about a week, unless they are escaping too much and are a danger to themselves.
We are naming them with a New York theme.
the girls; Brooklyn, Harlem, Manhatten, Queens, Liberty
the boys; Bronx, Statten, Jersey
They aren't too sure about the bottle yet, and they are skinny and a little sickly. As usual, they have round worm - their hips are sticking out, but their bellies are round. They are sweet and we'll see what their personalities are like once they are feeling better!
