i {heart} papers design team challenge

Oh boy!  You’re going to have back to back IHP excitement today and tomorrow.  First, today is our monthly DT Challenge and tomorrow we begin sneak peeking the latest Petal Press set called Summer Garden.  The Petal Press is BACK (after a brief hiatus) and this new set is the perfect summer set!  It is sweet and elegant and even coordinates with some elements from Happy Harvest!   So, if you’ve got that one then you’re definitely going to want this one!  Best of all (for me), all the flowers are allergy free!

With the new release we are also welcoming some new DT faces.  They will all have sneak peek samples tomorrow and there will be blog candy up for grabs so be sure to stop by and comment on all of their blogs for your multiple chances to win both tomorrow and on release day, June 23.

Please join me in welcoming (or welcoming back) the team.  I hope you stop by tomorrow to see their amazing creations!

And now…onto today’s Getting “Krafty” DT Challenge!  The challenge was to create a project using some of the awesome kraft papers/supplies available, like the Jillibean Soup printed kraft papers or the new Basic Grey Basics Kraft (or Manila) pads – just to name a few!  Here is my card:

I decided to go for my Max & Whiskers paper and combine it with Kraft pad, both from basic Grey.  I used this black and ivory check ribbon because it had a kraft feel to it and, well, it's CUTE!  I stamped the Dog with Basic Grey's Epsilon Series Dog stamp - perfect to co-ordinate with this Max & Whiskers paper using tuxedo black Momento ink.

I used copic markers to jazz up the image a little.  Here's a close up of the image;

I doodled around the sentiment after sponging inside the circle nestie using Mushroom Adirondack ink.

Now, I have to be honest.  I had a second card done using Capella paper along with these gorgeous taupe pearl flourishes and Capella bloomers.  I left it on my desk while I took my oldest DD to her final exam.  When I got home and looked at it, all I could think was that there is no way I could put my name on it and upload it because it looked dumb as a bag of hammers.  I actually disassembled it and I'll try to work on it a bit over the next day or so.  We'll see how far I get with that since I have a wedding dress fitting Thursday night and the train bustle is being a bit of a bug-a-boo!!!  Gotta get that baby done because there is just no messing with any bride's stress level!

Be sure to visit the rest of the Core DT to see their projects.  And, if you’d like to play along, please tag your project ihp0610 in your SCS or PCP galleries so we can find it!  Be sure to leave a comment with your blog link if you play along too!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to see you tomorrow for the sneak peek!
