OCC Featuring Sugar Creek Hollow

Our sponsor this week is a brand new digital stamp company Sugar Creek Hollow. So new, in fact, that their Grand Opening is March 1st. They are a Christian company that is giving all of their proceeds to a food pantry. They are offering $10 in free digital images to the lucky winner of this week's random selection. But really everybody wins because as part of their Grand Opening there is a fabulous Friday Freebie (from yesterday), a blog hop, a drawing for $50 in free digital stamps and the opportunity to receive a free digital stamp for every $10 you spend on the Grand Opening day of March 1st. So be sure to drop by their site on Monday and check out all the goodies!

This week our February host, Linda Coughlin, has challenged the OCC to a sketch challenge. We can’t wait to see your take on the sketch, feel free to use your favorite stamps and supplies!!

There is no time limit on our challenges - participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC

And here is my project (flawed - I forgot the middle band) for this sketch;

I coloured the frame with prismacolours and to me it looks like a tatoo, but my family thinks it looks great, so I decided to keep it. OH GOSH!!! I love Ribbons paper by Cosmo Cricket from their Be Good line for vintage images. It has my idea of the perfect sepia undertone for images, and the colour is mottled, which is always nice for vintage AND it colours up like kraft paper which is like 100 home runs in a row kind of happy!

I used my sakura glue pen and some glitter on the flourish below the sentiment to jazz it up a bit, and I really like the effect. The designer paper is from a K&Co pad called Blue Awning - it's an oldie, but a goodie! I think it's the only pad I own that I've almost used up. Usually, I have my favourite papers that I use up and I'm left with the majority of the pad that I'm ambivalent (totally uninspired!!!) about that gets donated to my DD's junior high for their scrapbook option.

Please do pop over to the OCC blog and check out what the rest of the design team did with this sketch and note that the Sugar Creek Hollow Grand Opening Blog Hop is on Monday! We got skunked last night for the second time this week, so I didn't get much sleep. On the up side, he missed the corner of the house where my studio is this time, and so I don't have to panic about getting wedding dresses out of my stinky storage, and I can work in there today!

Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend!

stamps; forever, flourish frame (sugar creek hollow)
paper; blue awning (K&Co), hershey, coconut swirl (bazzill)
