OCC Boy Valentine

This week our February host, Linda Coughlin, has challenged the OCC to a masculine valentine challenge. Many of us struggle with making cards for men. Let’s make sure we have a Valentine made and ready go for our sweetie in time for Valentine’s Day. The challenge this week is to make a card for a man into our life - a significant other, dad, brother or friend.

There is no time limit on our challenges - participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC

This image is from a new-ish Our Craft Lounge set called, Wanted. It's really different for Valentines, which is why I was drawn to it. I have one DS that I need to have a card done for - and yay me! - now I have only 5 special cards to go, plus the valentines for my kid's classes. Hmm... Better kick into high gear here!

I stamped this image with Espresso adirondack ink and coloured it with copic markers. * i {heart} my copic markers!* I sponged around the edges and distressed them. I used alcohol ink on the 'together' grommet to dirty it up a bit and attached it with hemp twine. I think my hunny bunny will love it!

Please do take a little time to check out the mamzing projects by the rest of the OCC design team!

Cindy, Dana, Jennifer, Jenny, Jocelyn, Linda, Lori, Melissa, Silke, Wendy

stamps; Wanted (our craft lounge)
paper; it's all scraps, people so I have no idea!
ink; espresso adirondack ink, brushed corduroy distress ink (ranger)
accessories; heart nesties, small mega deckle rectangle (spellbinders), grommet (making memories), screw brads (karen foster), copic markers, hemp twine

This is awesome, Loretta! Perfect for your DS. Those cactuses are so cool and I love your coloring, plus all the little extra details just add to the Western style! Super card for the challenge.

Wow, Loretta! This is a gorgeous card with lots of detail. You did a fab job with the coloring. I love the stripe paper you put on the side...looks like handmade native american fabric design. Love the small brads/pearls and all the sponging on everything! Love the sentiment too!

Hey Loretta, you asked where I got the sentiment that I used on my card. Would you believe I am being dragged kickin' and screamin' into the digital stamping age? I created it with my PhotoShop elements!! The black stamped frame around it is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.
