It's October and on the OCC we want to first thank Dana Grothaus for hosting September, and second, welcome Lori Rider as out challenge hostess for this month. Your challenge this week is to find inspiration in one or both of these journals by Monique Duval. The quotes alone are inspiring - we hope *you* are inspired to come and play along!
These 2 journals are quite inspiring! Here's what I did;
I loved the fall rust/orange colour of the first journal and I appreciate her use of simple botanics on her covers. I used a single botanical image on my sentiment as she did on her cover. I love the serenity of the simple botanic image.
Monique Duval has a real knack for amazing writing framed on her covers. I chose to use a sentiment as my focal point, like the inspiration piece. Mine is from Scripture Collection 1 from Our Daily Bread Designs.
I think my designer paper is a bit wow for this project given the subtlety of the inspiration piece, but, well, it had to be my own at some point! I saw this wrap on the SCS Inspiration Challenge, and it had the same 'flavour' as the journals, so I let the inspiration guide me! I used Indian Summer from Basic Grey and the rest of the paper are bits of scraps from my brown scrap drawer. I know those are Bazzill, but that's about it. Yay me! Using up that pile of scraps...except I haven't even dented that 18 bajillion pound pile!
Cute bows, eh?!!! I'm not the first on the bow easy band wagon - I didn't even find the thing! But I've got to tell you, it'll be just about the best $5.50 you'll ever spend!
Thanks for dropping by today and leaving your kind words behind :)!

Another beauty, Loretta. I have always loved your work with it's many details (after my own heart - LOL). I really like how you made the scripture the focal point of this piece and the deep, rich colors are the final crowning touch!
