OCC Sketch Challenge

Our hostess for May, Robin, continues her challenge line up with this sketch;

And this is my take on this sketch. I was at a woman's trade show and coloured this Ketto (I love her to bits!!!) while traffic was a little slow. She sat on my desk for all of a day and I knew I wanted to use her for this sketch. Normally, I choose an image and the designer paper simultaneously. One needs to support the other, and sometimes this is an arduous job. I learned this from my many years of quilting and teaching quilting. It's often a no fail technique. However, for this image, I had no paper with me so I made a best guess for colours from memory from this paper - Que sera sera from K&Co.

I have to be honest; this is a card that kept growing embellishments and touches. I counted 13 self-adhesive rhinestones on this card!!! Normally that would be gaudy blingification, but it works here. The last thing I decided on a spur of the moment was the glow behind this little fairy. She's so sweet, I think the air around her would vibrate if she were real.

I think this card is over the moon whimsical and I think this will end up on a wall for one of my girls. My 8yo old would be the logical choice, but what young lady wouldn't love this happy little scene?!!!

I used cinnamon stickles on the ball ends of her hair. There are diamond stickles on her wings applied in a very thin layer and, once dry, coated with crystal effects for a little dimension. It makes her wings looks like opal IRL - totally amazing! Her tiara just HAD to have jewels!!! What REAL tiara doesn't have jewels!

Yup! Totally adorable!!!

Make sure you head on over to the other OCC blogs to see what everyone else did with this sketch challenge!

Cute, adorable and absolutely beautiful! Everything worked on this card - not too much bling at all. Those little flowers on the edge of the sentiment tag is just the perfect extra touch. Great coloring, as usual.
btw, Happy Mother's Day!!
