The conversation went something like this;
"So, I have to do a challenge for Kate for Monday. We need to make a Valentine for someone who isn't our sweetheart." - Me
"What's a sweetheart?" -12yoDD
"Like how your dad is my sweetheart." - Me
"Oh! I get it. That sounds old." -12yoDD
"ANYWAY! If I made a Valentine, what do you think it should look like?" - Me
"Um, no pink." -12yoDD
"Big surprise there. Anything else?" - Me
"Nope - just no pink." -12yoDD
*sigh*
By the way, she's not big on red either. So, a purple valentine it is. Not so easy peasy. However, this isn't for me so too bad so sad, eh?
I opted for 2 sets - Birthday Cupcake and Sweet Hearts. I used papers from my Eva 6x6 pad. She really loves these papers, except that she thinks they could have done without the pink. Oh brother! I took the xoxoxoxox strip from the sweet hearts set and boxed in the cupcake. One of my absolute favourite things about acrylic sets is that the images and sentiments can be changed by curving them on the mounting block. Don't even think about asking me how many times I have done this accidently... Not cool. I'm getting better at remembering to do a quick sample on scrap paper BEFORE stamping on the almost finished product.
I used copic markers to colour the cupcake, a few crystal stickles to bling up the sprinkles, and some heart ghost shapes in the corner. I used 1/8" tackytape with glitter on the striped dp.
She's going to be over the moon!

Cute! Love the curved "xoxoxo"s.
Cute! Don't worry, she'll probably change her mind somewhere along the line about "pink"! I think this is quite special, esp. with the Eva papers!
