the card that helped me burn dinner...

The truth;

I woke up night before last at 4am with this card in my head. The thin layer of emerald green around every layer - done in my head down to the shrink plastic charm. I was jumping up and down inside my head excited to do this. Then, yesterday happened and I had other equally nice things to do, but these papers were sitting on the side of my desk calling to me (yes, I still live in a cave!).

You should have seen me once everything else was out of the way - except the clock! This dp from gcd studios is outrageous!!! It is irridescent, so a gold hue comes and goes depending on the angle of the paper. I must have sat in my chair for a good 10 minutes just turning the paper this way and that (think cave!!). DH was due home from work and my poor starving children were knocking on my door, dragging their sad little bodies (yes, I know DD is 6" taller than me, but she'll always be my baby!) around the house. No one is beating anyone else. DH is late. So I stamped!

My phone rang, and I answered, glowing because I knew who was on the other end {insert wave for DEBDEB!!!!!} from Florida. Happy place! While we were chatting, I got all the layers together and made the charm. It warped because I wasn't paying attention. Who cares! I had a lovely conversation for about 45 minutes. At this point DH has joined the poor children; dragging... knocking...moaning...

okay...card got done. Heated the oven for fries and chicken nuggets. Went upstairs to get caught up on the day with DH. Not 10 minutes later, there's a burning smell. *sigh* I'm still trying to get used to our new oven which is miles better than our old stove - hence burned dinner occassionally when I revert to old cooking habits... But who cares! I'm talking about my lovely phone conversation and this card.

and dinner burned... I had to remove the REALLY burned nuggets and add more to bake - supervised.

*my house still smells like burned nuggets this morning... *contented sigh*

stamps; santa collage (rubber stampede), north pole (basic grey)
paper; sophisticated frost (gcd studios), sugar daddy bling (bazzill), perlescent emerald (paper accents)
ink; perlescent chocolate (brilliance by tsukineko) *note it gets really dark shrunk on shrink plastic*
accessories; copper cord, chocolate chip satin (SU!), goldenberry dew drops (the robin's nest), adhesive rhinestone (K&Co), stardust glitter pen (sakura), stardust stickles (ranger), i kandee pastel chalks (pebbles)
