I got Kim's Boho Blossom from My Favourite Things. I really love this set - It's right up my shabby chic fancy flourishy alley. Last Wednesday Kim hosted a launch party over on Splitcoast for her new stamp sets - it was fun!!! Cindy_Haffner is on the design team and hosted a challenge for the launch. Make this box from paper and decorate it. Now, last Wednesday was Halloween and I have kidlets that are still young enough to go out so I wasn't able to play then, but I really wanted to do this challenge.
I started it yesterday when I got a shipment of Basic Grey paper - hold me back!!!! There was Figgy Pudding AND some select Fruitcake in that highly anticipated box. I need more paper like I need a hole in my head, but I LOVE this stuff!!! Basic Grey is one of my favourite designer paper lines. I tore open my packages and went to town for this little cutie pie box. I have no idea what I'll keep in it, but who cares?!!! I'll set it somewhere I can gaze on it for awhile before I decide. I really like that the designer paper is double sided, so the inside of the box is quite lovely too.
I used SU! Classy Copper ep for the Boho Blossom (WHY did SU! have to discontinue that ep??!!! It's the best around!!) and sponged cranberry crisp around the tips of the petals. I used Distress Ink's Walnut Stain for the very edges of the petals. I raided my beading box for the copper wire and beads - I love that touch.
Cindy, thanks for the challenge!!!
