Fireworks in October

I have a product focused project for you today. I was recently invited to play with one of several new Tsukineko products released at CHA Summer 2011- a fabulous new glimmer spray called Fireworks. It creates colorful, sparkly, shimmery effects on both light and dark papers and is available in 24 colors, all complimentary to Memento ink colors. This glimmer spray is easy to use and quick-drying on most paper surfaces. It is water-based, acid-free and non-toxic so it is easy to clean up if the dog grabs the bottle or if your little ones happen to 'borrow' your crafting supplies! However, it does say right on the bottle to keep out of the reach of children... The 0.5 fluid ounce spray bottle is a fabulous little size for those of us who only use glimmer spray occasionally rather than on every single project, page and flower we create!

Kate will be giving away some Fireworks to a random commenter ON TODAY’S DESIGN TEAM POSTS, so the more you hop and comment, the more chances you have to win! The winner will be announced on Friday so you have until Thursday at 9 p.m. EST to leave your comments!

I started by stamping my image (Ornamental Season) using tuxedo black Memento ink which didn't smear or run when Fireworks were spritzed on. I coloured using the following copic markers;

Once this image was coloured, I painted over the ornaments using my Fireworks shimmer mist since the copic tones of green and violet I used are a perfect colour match for the New Sprout and Lulu Lavender Firework glimmer spray. It was simple enough to remove the spray nozzle and dipping an aqua painter in the liquid and paint the image. I used lipstick red atyou spica glitter pen to add red shine to the ribbon and red ornaments.

The shine is superb making my ornaments look like they are sugared miniatures of life size ornaments!  To add a little more shine, I spritzed the image panel with Lulu Lavender spray, and the background with New Sprout. As you can see on the dark brown of my card background, the new sprout spray shows up on the dark brown card stock. This product is fun to work with. I didn't have trouble with the spray circumference but, to be safe, I did use a wide box to spray in that I got from a book shipment I received ages ago. My double bow was made using red sheer twinkle ribbon and my bow easy.

The rest of the i {heart} papers design team has some more fabulous ideas using Fireworks, so do take a peek and enjoy!!

    What a great idea! Can you tell me how many times a dog has grabbed your Fireworks? Just curious. :)
