HC - Christmas is in the Pink

Good Wednesday morning to you! Have I told you lately I'm so thankful when you stop by? Especially when you let me know you've been here.

For my Heartfelt Creations project this week, I decided to go with a less traditional coloured Christmas card.

I love the elegance of this image from the Poinsettia Ornament 2 set which coordinates perfectly with the Heirloom Ornaments 2011 die by Spellbinders. To accommodate the embossing folder I've used here, this card is 5"x7" and I must admit that while creating it I kept thinking it was a HUGE card, but now that it's done, I quite like this size!

I heat embossed the image using silver detail embossing enamel. I stamped extra layers of poinsettia from the Petite Poinsettia set on the same Eskimo Kisses paper I used to layer the card, and heat embossed them as well before cutting them out using . The delicate pink of this Christmas card is quite striking and by using the coordinating Layered Poinsettia Die set by Spellbinders, it is a super quick card to make with maximum impact!

The instructions to make this card are on the Heartfelt Creations Blog along with the projects by the rest of the design team, for your enjoyment!

stamps; petite poinsettia, poinsettia ornament 2 (heartfelt creations)
paper; eskimo kisses (basic grey), white canvas (bazzill)
ink; versamark (tsukineko), spun sugar, worn lipstick distress ink (ranger)
accessories; love is in the air embossing folder (provocraft), layered poinsettia die, heirloom ornaments 2011 die (spellbinders), silver superfine detail embossing powder (ranger), pink silk ribbon (may arts), silver painty pen (zig), pearl brad (making memories), bow easy

The is absolutely fantabulous! Beautiful, even in pink!

I asked my daughter about putting white butterflies on a red and white poinsettia card, and she said, "No butterflies in the winter!" She has no imagination! lol

Thank you for playing along with the Magical Monday Challenges. Unfortunately, you didn't use a Magical Character (Angel, Fairy, Mermaid, Dragon, etc...) so it does not qualify for the challenge. There will be a new challenge tomorrow if you would like to play along again.
