Snowmen Melt Your Heart

 I pulled out an oldie but a goodie with my Basic Grey Wassail paper (can it be 2 years old already?!!!) to pair with these new stamps, Snowmen Melt Your Heart and Petite Medallion Background from Heartfelt Creations.

Instructions to make this card;

Apply crackle paint to chipboard heart and set aside to dry.

Cut black cardstock rectangles 4 1/4"x6", 3 1/8"x4 3/4" and 1 7/8"x2 7/8" and one black square 2 5/16". Cut stripe paper 4 1/8"x5 3/4" and sponge the edges lightly with black ink then apply tacky tape running parallel with the stripes on the paper. Peel off backing and sprinkle glitter on the exposed adhesive. Adhere striped paper to large black rectangle. Cut dotted paper 3"x4 5/8" and sponge edges lightly with black ink. Adhere to smaller black rectangle and attach black brads then adhere to striped card base.

Stamp sentiment in dark brown ink on 1 3/4"x2 2 1/2" ivory cardstock, masking out the word 'heart' with a sticky note. Overstamp snowflake background with light brown ink and sponge with light brown ink and then a little black on the corners. adhere sentiment to 1 3/4"x 2 3/4" red rectangle.

Stamp snowman image on ivory cardstock, colour and then mask image to overstamp with snowflake background in light brown ink. Cut out image with square nestabilites die, without cutting scarf. Hand cut lower edge of scarf. Adhere image to red 2 3/16 square, then adhere again to black cardstock square.

Using a light and dark red alcohol ink on applicator, dab ink on dry crackle painted chipboard heart. Assemble card as shown.

Here's a close-up of how I coloured the snowman with copics and then masked him to over stamp with the snowflakes.  I think it makes for an effective background.

A close-up of that chipboard heart.  I love using brushed pewter crackle paint and then dabbing alcohol ink on it to get this blown crackle glass look.  Divine!!

Love it! How do you cut the snowman with the square nestie without cutting the scarf? I must be a little dense cause I can't figure that out!

I like it a lot! The snowman's scarf hanging off the 'frame' is a nice touch. Love the crackle heart. Beautiful card all around!

I love your snowman card and would love to know how you managed to cut the square out using a nestie without cutting the scarf off.

Thank you
