i {heart} paper challenge - Getting organized

I have a project for you today that I am quite enamoured of for our i {heart} paper challenge - Getting organized!  For me, barely contained chaos is about as organized as I get.  I have piles and as long as no one touches my piles, I know where things are... or at least I used to.  Now, I have very helpful children and a DH that is trying to take good care of me and help me with my chaos.  I rarely know where anything is anymore so this is a timely challenge.  We live and die by post-it-notes, but we have trouble keeping track of our block of notes, and it gets whack and mashed on the computer desk, so I've made a coaster box to keep out post-it-note block in.

I used 4" white chipboard coasters.  I covered them all with cardstock layers, topped with Origins patterned paper.  I sponged the outside paper with black cardstock, hoping that this will hide the dirt that will eventually mar my little box.  I ran the exposed edges of my coasters direct on my black ink pad to hide the white edges.

I punched holes along the edges with my crop-a-dile, and threaded ribbon through to hold the coasters together.  The side coasters are held to the base with tacky tape.

The panels on each of the sides have a touch of whimsy to them.  I love it!  I used Unity's Naturally You stamp kit.  Each image was stamped in brown, coloured with copic markers, then I inked the sentiment with black ink, stamped off on scrap paper, and then stamped the sentiment over my coloured image for a softer effect.

I made the topper blossom using Dahlia nestabilities dies - by the way, Kate has this set of dies ON SALE!!! I cut several of 3 sizes and used the rounded end of my copic micro liner to give each petal shape - like a huge embossing tool.  Kate is out of stock right now, but if you want one, contact her and she will order more.  I love the effect!

The rest of the i {heart} papers design team have some wonderful projects to help with organization, so grab a cuppa and take a peek!  If you are able to play along with us, use code IHP0810 so we can find your project and leave you some LUV!

Amazing work, Loretta! Such beautiful artistry for a lowly Post-It note box. I am sure it will be prominently displayed (with a block of Post-It notes inside) for easy access. Amazing beauty meets simple practicality!
