Fabulous Friday Father's Day Challenge

Summer's a comin'!  So what that it's almost mid-June and I'm still wearing wool socks and sweaters...  *sigh*  I know we need the rain, but I should would like it if we could have the rain with some warmth.  It was snow a week or so ago, and I guess the rain is a step up, eh?!

This week the design team has been challenged to make a Father's Day card.  'Tis the season!  Tracy has designed a marvelous Vintage Balloon image that I used for my card;

 I coloured the balloons with copic markers and layered them up using rectangle nesties on a fancy tag layer.  I have just, in the last week, stumbled upon the notion that black paper cut and embossed using some of these more intricate dies from spellbinders makes the paper look like wrought iron.  I LOVE IT!  I seriously doubt that I am the first person to come up with this, because there are people much more creative than I am out there and I would just about bet money they have done it before I did.  Still, I figured this out on my own, and I am quite pleased with myself.

Here's a close up of the balloons;

I wanted to make these balloons look like they were carrying banners, and it wasn't until just now that I realized that if these balloons were flying fast enough to make the banners fly out that straight, they would be super charged power balloons.  If the head wind was that strong, Huston, we have a problem...and a downed balloon!

I entered this card in the CCEE challenge this week for their 'man card' challenge as well!

Go ahead and take a boo at the projects by the rest of the Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team;

Forecast for tomorrow; a little sun which means PUPPY PICTURES!  I'll update y'all on Tiger and her girls then.

stamps; vintage balloon, father's day sentiment (sugar creek hollow)
paper; tangiers (7gypsies), raven, geneva, unknown lighter brown scrap (bazzill)
ink; antique linen, tea dye, vintage photo distress ink (ranger)
accessories; lg & sm rectangle nesties, fancy tags (spellbinders), ribbon (SU!), copic markers

I love what you've done with this image Loretta! The color pallet you have used is so pleasing to my eye and I think your banner sentiment is terrific. I never would have thought of the velocity issue that you raised - LOL!! Great work with the tag die too!
