Happy Saturday!!!! Our challenge this week on the OCC is to make a black and white card with lots of texture! As a bonus, I'm asking that we only use text for our image rather than an image. No colour anywhere!!! This is a real challenge for me because I'm not that particular to black. I'm getting used to black, but it's still not a fave! Today is my last post with the Our Creative Corner. Many things have changed for me since I started with the OCC almost 15 months ago, and I'm not able to continue with the OCC and still give my family, my youth group, our foster dogs and my other design teams the time they deserve from me.
As always, there is no time limit on our challenges and we would ask that you share your card on the linky system on the OCC blog. When you upload to SCS or PCP, please use the code OCCC so we can find your card and leave you a comment!
I dry embossed a flourish in the white band across the card, but it didn't show up very well in my picture. On the designer paper I used, the pattern is flocked velvet - *uber* gorgeous texture there!!!
Please do stop by the OCC blog to see the terrific creations by the rest of the design team.
stamps; jouyful hearts (just rite)
paper; black & white butterfly (MAMBI), raven, coconut swirl (bazzill)
ink; black soot (distress ink by ranger)
accessories; lotus pendant, circle and scallop circle nesties (spellbinders), iron works emboss folder (provocraft), black and clear adhesive rhinestones (heidi swapp)

This is wonderful Loretta. So crisp and sharp looking. Love that spellbinders die (one I don't have!). We sure are going to miss you over at the OCC. I have so enjoyed working with you and getting to know you. Wishing you all the best in your design work and your life! Thanks for all the wonderful challenges this month!
Hugs,
Linda

To me, black and white are elegant colors together and this card is just that...ELEGANT!
I just read about Tiger and her puppies. I do not know how you do it Loretta...you are a "saint" for dogs and puppies...Your story made me cry because I absolutely love dogs (especially my Piper). I was so happy that you took pictures to share with us. Bless Tiger's heart! What a wonderful mother she will be. And you are amazing...God has a special place around "doggie heaven" for you! Thank you for sharing this remarkable memory!
