Button Up! Friday Challenge
Today's Friday challenge for Sugar Creek Hollow is to use buttons. No problemo! So, technically, it looks like I used a button - it's sewn already, no less! - but it's actually a brad! I love the way it centers the embossing.
I used a new digital stamp set that Tracy has put together as an Easter Special right on the home page. There are 5 images that are available together for $5. What a bargain!!! It is a beautiful set.
Now, I've done something that I was impressed that I actually thought of it all by myself - sort of. I've seen a lot of dimensional paper flowers around, and I really love what Linda Duke does to 3-D up her flowers. LOVE IT! So, in miniature, I've done something similar here. And, in fact, I'm going to do it much bigger shortly, just to prove to myself that I can. I selected the dogwood blossom, and put the image on paper 4 times. With one image I enlarged it for the bottom petals. One image I left the original size, and I made the last 2 images smaller. I coloured them with prismacolours, cut them out and gave them a little texture a la Linda Duke. This is something I've only seen done with nestabilities dies, and they look wonderful, but I wanted to see if it could be done with an actual image. LOVE IT! I mounted the layers on pop dots for a little extra dimension, but the larger I go, the less likely I think I will need the pop dots.
Right, then. The rest of the SCH DT has some wonderful projects qued up, so have a boo and celebrate the weekend is almost here!!!
