Today on the OCC, Jocelyn is challenging us with goin' 3-D. Jocelyn's very favorite thing to do in paper crafting is to make 3-D projects! The challenge this week is to do just that! You can choose to construct something out of paper or alter something like a box, jar...whatever strikes your fancy! We can’t WAIT to see what you all come up with!!
3-D is my weakest area in paper crafting, but I gained a lot of confidence doing this project and with my perpetual calendar project. I cheated a little. I used a card I made for an OCC sketch challenge last May and mounted it in a shadow box. I also made this a week before Christmas and gave it to my youngest DD for Christmas. She loved it!
I had this shadow box from IKEA for a few months, and knew this is what I wanted to do with it. I used Basic Grey rub ons on the glass to enforce the illusion of depth. We love the shadow of the rub on 'Blessed' that is cast when the sun shines on the shadow box where it hangs on Rachel's wall. Her favourite colours are blue and green, but the happiness I think I caught in this project is so RACHEL. She is sweet and whimsical, sensitive and runs like the wind. *sigh* I love my kid - KWIM?
Here is what the original card looked like;
And the close-up of the main image;
Take a little time and enjoy the rest of the OCC DT's 3-D stuff. I know I will. I'm so easily awed by 3-D projects because I sweat buckets over them! Cindy, Dana, Jennifer, Jenny, Jocelyn, Linda, Lori, Silke, Wendy

You did this little ketto up so CUTE. What an adorable gift for a little girl room -- just perfect, Loretta!!!
What a WONDERFUL gift for your daughter...she sounds like a very special little girl!!! Your coloring here is OUTSTANDING!!!
What a great idea for your 3D project, Loretta! This would look so great in a little girls room:)
Absolutely frameable!!!
Loretta, you did such a fabulous job at coloring this little Maisy creature! Lots of fun colors and textures. Perfect for a little girl's room! Great job!
Absolutely frame worthy, I love your 3D project with the beautiful colors and coloring.
This is absolutely beautiful! I loved the card when you first posted it, now you've taken it to the next level by making it into framed art. Only you, Loretta, would be bold enough to pair and orange themed card with a pink swirled mat, and make it work! The rub-ons finish the project very nicely. Great work!
What a fabulous idea Loretta! LOVE the sparkle and beautiful coloring!
Have a fun weekend ~ Jennifer :)
This is just so AWESOME!! The card is cute, then ya transformed it into a saved piece of art!
Great shadow box project, Loretta! Darling card. I can see why your DD loves it!
I bought that same shadow box from Ikea over a year ago and it's still sitting here in its shrink wrap! I bought it for the same reason too - to frame a card. Now you've got me motivated to USE it - LOL!!
I didn't know Ikea had shadow boxes - I will be checking them out for sure! Yours is just gorgeous and I can see why your daughter loved it. Your Ketto card was adorable by itself but it's even more stunning framed out this way!
These are both adorable! I need to go to IKEA now.
Wow, this is just amazing!!!
Oh Loretta I really think this would be fabulous in a little girl's room...hanging on the wall...TFS!!
This is very pretty Loretta!! Perfect for a little girls room.
BTW, glad to see there's another Joseline in the blogging world ;o)
