OCC CAS IC213

Jocelyn, our OCC hostess for January's New Year’s resolution is to simplify her life, so she thought it appropriate to start off with a CAS challenge! Clean and Simple! We’ll leave it to you to decide what clean and simple means to you...whether you go with less layers, or maybe no embellishments... whatever you decide!!

I'm not sure if this card sticks within the parameters of standard CAS, but every time I reached for my sponge I reminded myself of the 'clean' portion of CAS. I dirty up so much of what I do, and it's a favourite technique of mine, so that was quite challenging. Too late, I realized that I have quite a few layers, but I like all the pink framing. I cut back on the embellishments I normally use, and kept my colours to a minimum, so I hope that's good enough for 'clean and simple'.
I love the website inspiration challenge that Stef has this week. I love the simplicity of this pink heart pendant and this lovely customized pendant. I love the little girl's hair colour used for this pendant and tried to capture it in my Lollipop image. I love all the cute little dragonfly stuff on this site as well, and I have some more ideas, but we'll see if I have anymore time today to what I have in mind with m ywhipper snapper dragonfly.

This is a 6x6" card, as I find this is my favourite go to size. I used a new ecstasy piercing template that Kate is now carrying at i {heart} papers. I coloured this Lori Boyd Lollipop image using prismacolors and gamsol. I fought every urge I had to shadow her or give her some weight under the image so she doesn't look like she's floating. It definitely looks cleaner this way!!!

Do stop by the rest of the OCC DT blogs for some more eye candy and inspiration this weekend; Cindy, Dana, Jennifer, Jenny, Jocelyn, Linda, Lori, Melissa, Silke, and Wendy

Love this card with it's soft pinks and white and yes, it IS super simple for you, Loretta. I was happy when I saw your sample for this challenge with several layers because then I knew mine would fit in too - LOL. It was a fun challenge for me. BTW, love that paper piercing too.

Hope you enjoyed the holidays with your family and that 2010 is a better year for you and brings all things wonderful!

Hugs,
Linda
