OCC stars and stripes and IC196 Monya Bags

Since this is Labor Day weekend, Dana Grothaus thought it would be fitting to have a challenge using Stars & Stripes on the OCC blog. Your card can be patriotic if you like, but it's not necessary. Just so you include both stars and stripes in some manner. We can't wait to see what you create! Have fun!

There is no time limit on our challenges - feel free to participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.

I thought, 'Cool' when I saw the challenge for this week. I immediately pulled out my Christmas paper since I'm still trying to get a jump on cards for this year. I know, I might be a little late to get a jump on Christmas cards, but snow hasn't fallen yet! I ended up not making a Christmas card at all, but I did use Christmas paper;

I think this is a pretty easy peasy card, but why did it take so long?!!!! I didn't like what I did with the sentiment first time around, so if the ribbon panel ever falls off, the recipient of this card will really be surprised! I stamped a flourish and the sentiment first time round and it looked awful. I turned the oval upside down, and whaddya know, a fresh place for the sentiment!

This is such lovely inspiration for today's inspiration challenge for this card; Moyna mother of pearl bag. They have some very cool bags at this site.

There's a schwack load of new faces on OCC, so take a little time to check out who they all are, and what they did for this challenge! Gorgeous stuff there.

stamps; Friendship (ODBd), all about borders (inkadinkado)
ink; pebble, mushroom adirondack ink (ranger)
paper; figgy pudding (basic grey), gold (paper accents), hazel, coconut swirl (bazzill)
accessories; white silk ribbon (may arts), aqua nylon ribbon (martha stewart), oval and scallop oval nesties (spellbinders), mini screw brads (tim holtz), rhinestoness (heidi swapp), border punch (fiskars), star charms (blue moon beads)
