OCC - Lowell Herrero inspired

The challenge on OCC this week is an inspiration challenge. I love poking around allposters.com and awhile ago I stumbled on the amazing artwork of Lowell Herrero. I love the innocence of his images, and his women just about make me feel skinny!!! His rural life scenes speak to me, and I love his harvest pictures, especially at this time of year when the fields are ripe with the fullness of life. Your challenge is to create a card inspired by the artwork of Lowell Herrero.

To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. Remember, there are no time limits to our challenges. Feel free to play along whenever you're able. If you upload to SCS, use keyword: OCCC

I used an image from the new stamp line, Chicken Girl Designs, called Into the Forest to create my little orchard. I'm getting all excited because this new stamp line will be released TOMORROW!!!! Come on back for a chance for some blog candy then.

This card feels a little nekid to me, but to be true to the inspiration, simple felt like the right way to go! I stamped the trees on plaid paper from Mr Campy by Cosmo Cricket. I did a little heat emboss on it and cut 'em out. I adhered super narrow (the only width I have) brown ric rac to the back of the green layer to create a horizon of, apparently, perfectly uniform brown hills *snort*. All the hills, trees and furrows in the inspiration art are perfectly uniform too, I'll have you know. ;)

So what are you hanging around here for?!!! Go on and check out the other OCC posts from Frances, Jennifer, Jenny, Jocelyn and Silke.

stamps; into the forest (chicken girl designs by IHP)
paper; mr campy (cosmo cricket), ivy (bazzill)
ink; walnut stain distress ink (ranger)
accessories; clear ep (ranger), brown mini ric rac (bazzill), poinsettia dew drops (the robin's nest)
