ODBD Monochromatic Rejoice

Anyone who knows me, knows I have an aversion to black. I'm just not big on it. I know it's classic and a wonderful strong neutral. I know it's a favourite for many of you out there. What I hope you will notice is that I'm REALLY trying to grow here and use black a little more. I bought an entire pad of paper that is called Black&White Butterfly just to try to work with black. I love butterflies, so that was the lovely part that I figured would make the black part easier. Don't question my logic. It's what gets me through. ;)

I combined black with Sahara Sand. Sahara Sand used to rank right there with black for me, but I've come to appreciate it a little more, and it doesn't quite look like wet cement to me now. In fact, I've come to terms with it as a neutral and one that I should try to pull out a little more often. I do like it with black, and I hope this looks more elegant than morbid. There is no pop of colour and so I'm relying on it coming together to look classic.

I admit I love Smooch ink. I used it on the flourishes to highlight. I bought the white Smooch when it first came out because it was a neutral, so I thought it was a wise choice to be able to work it with lots of colours... and I wasn't all that keen on the other colours released initially. Smooch now has doubled the colours available and I can hardly wait to get these ones; Lime, Black Cherry, Molasses, Snickerdoodle... Marvelous stuff!!!

I have links in the recipe if you want to check my supplies out a little closer!
