This week our July hostess, Jenny Gropp, has challenged the OCC to a TRIPLE PLAY Challenge... Less is not always more! You must pick at least three types of embellishments to use on your card or project. These are your choices: Brads, Eyelets, Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Thread/Floss, Beads, Charms, Rub Ons, Liquid Applique, Crystal Lacquer. There is no time limit on our challenges - feel free to participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment on the OCC blog, linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.
I'm going to say I made an eclectic card for today's OCC challenge. I love the inspiration of this light fixture on the Tracy Porter website for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS! A very cool website, I must say!
I've been very focused on working hard for the last while. I won't bore you with details, but my days are chok-a-block full from dawn til dusk. It will be that way until the end of next week. I've been squeezing all these challenges in late at night or when I get a tad twitchy from working so hard. This week's OCC project was no different in that I squeezed it in just just under the wire. What is different though, makes all the difference in the world;
I made a decision to use things I love that I haven't used before and to do things I love to do that I haven't done in awhile. The lists;
For OCC;
I used a charm - cute key, eh?!
Ribbon layered 3 deep!
Pearls - that's bling, right?
an eyelet - that ribbon had to get through somehow!
For me;
Sincerely Yours paper pack - happy place
MS triple butterfly punch - Okay, I drove all over creation to find this, and then it has been sitting on my desk unused for the last 6 weeks!!!!
Key Charm - I just adore antique keys, especially fake ones I can use as charms
A charm - who am I kidding - I love charms!!!
brown - yup! Love it to bits!
Top note die - I love this thing, so why on earth don't I use it more?!!
Vintage Lace stamp - I bought this as an impulse buy, neglected it for a FEW months - *my bad*
sponging - {HEART}
distress emboss powder - dang! I love this stuff, especially when it's so subtle!
I could go on all day, but the bottom line is, I love this card! I rarely use burgundy or purple and only once together before today, but I love it when other people do this, so I decided to give it a whirl!
*insert {contented sigh}*
The other OCC girls have done some *uber* FAB projects, so check it out, eh?! Links are on the side bar. It's kind of like if you've been to my house I invite you to please help yourself to the fridge. My sidebar is the same thing!
Have a marvelous weekend!!!
