Jacksonbelle Tuesday Sketch Challenge

Welcome to my first post as an official member of the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Design Team!!!

As players of this challenge, you have until Friday at 3pm EST to link your cards on the Jacksonbelle blog and then a random player will be chosen for the prize draw and posted on the Jacksonbelle blog Friday evening. If you do play along, and upload to SCS, be sure to use the keyword JBE061!!! This is the sketch for this Jacksonbelle Tuesday;

I like the simplicity of this sketch because it provides opportunity for using wonderful designer papers that so often get covered up by beautiful images. While beautiful images are good and generally the focal point of a card, sometimes pretty papers just need an opportunity to shine! ;)

For this card, I used my Honey Pie paper from Cosmo Cricket. Lindsey has all her Cosmo Cricket on sale this week and, I have to admit, it's one of my favourite designer paper companies!

My main image is from Stampavie called, Picnic of Daisies. This image is totally darling with the Honey Pie paper - I think this image and these papers were made for each other!!! They are just so homey sweet together. I coloured this cutie patootie with prismacolour pencils.

I'm always in a happy place when I colour with prismacolours. This was particularly important while I made this card because in my quiet neighbourhood that we moved into last summer we are trying to get to know the neighbours. I guess we aren't fast enough because when I left my garage to run my kids to the library, there was a SWAT team vehicle sitting at the top of my driveway, across the street. I nearly closed the big garage door quietly and went back in the house. Curiosity got the better of me though, and I drove up my driveway. 2 police squad cars were parked behind the SWAT vehicle. OH GOSH!!!! When all was said and done, a marajuana grow-op was shut down across the street and 2 doors down. I had no idea!!! I'm home all the time. My studio looks out that direction! I DO live in a cave!!! and I really am just that naive...

Isn't she darling? I just love her face - she is just so sweet. Hmmm... I just noticed I forgot to colour the centers of the flowers... Oh well! A job for another day! I used a Tim Holtz ideaology mini paper clip to hang the charm with. I thought I was being so clever, but it was a bit of a bugaboo getting it to sit just the right way with the ribbon through it. It was worth it though, because I still think it's clever... and a little lazy. I just couldn't be bothered to tie the charm on and the clips were sitting RIGHT THERE begging to be used and if I squint, they look like artistic jump rings.

Thanks for popping by today!!! Please take some time to visit the other Jacksonbelle Rockstars and leave them some love for their work as inspiration for you!
