I am so happy that I just received my package from i {heart} papers!! Oh, yoish Kate has some loverly stuff. I used Loverly papers, Winter Shapes, and Rust/Sage reversible ribbon. This paper is amazing. It has a linen texture to it which makes it feel so rich and utterly extravagant. The ribbon has a really luxurious weight to it. Go-jus!!!!
I inked up the stamp and mottled the inks and then went back and 'thumped' it with markers. Here is a terrific tutorial for thumping. I can't explain it any better than this tutorial so, please, go see it. I stamped it on the paper. DISASTER!!!! Dye ink, acrylic stamps, and textured paper - oh gack!!! *sigh* I forgot. Stamping on texturized cardstock always works better with pigment ink. I know this. Really I do, but I wanted to thump this image so much that I temporarily forgot this fact about dye ink, acrylic stamps, and textured paper. Someone may have really good results with this, but I never have. Ever.
I started feeling a little pressure than I have limited cardstock and I ubitzed on it. I love the Jacobean flowers on the other side of this cardstock and the ink didn't bleed through (really, really nice weight cardstock, I'm telling you!!!) so all wasn't lost, but I had this idea in my head and I really chase it down when that happens. I decided to fill in the gaps using markers. I started with that sentiment. Not bad. Then I started embellishing the flourishes in the image. I outlined using complimentary colours to the inks already on the paper. Then I started addin little dots and extending the flourishes. Next, I went over the top edges of the images (wherever snow falls) with white gel pen. I was feeling much better at this point.
I sponged the edges and added a little piercing and some liquid pearls. Badabing badaboom - she's done.
