I've had this idea for awhile. Besides paper, what can successfully go through my Xyron? I have officially fallen in love with that handy little machine all over again! In the Stampin' Up! Occasions mini and the Spring Summer 2008 catty there are sticky letters to glitter up. Well, I don't have them yet, but I love the look so I started thinking about ways I could DIY. I have many Heidi Swapp ghost shapes which I really like, but they disappear on paper and can be a little tough to adhere since they are transparent. Today the stars aligned and I discovered the following;

*white glue doesn't spread on plastic very well - it pools and gets nasty and likely takes forever to dry, if at all.

*ghost shapes are thin enough to easily go through the Xyron.

*translucent glitter allows ghost shapes to be translucent rather than turning the shape into a solid mass of glitter, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I really like the visual lightness of the glittered shape that is still a little see through - kinda like sexy lingerie before kids. *snort*

I'm so happy with this card I could almost do my million dollar happy dance without the million dollars!!!

stamps; kind thoughts (Stampin' Up!)

paper; Always Artichoke (Stampin' Up!), Root Beer (Bazzill), Pearlized Latte (Paper Accents), Once Upon a Time (DCWV), Fruitcake (Basic Grey)

ink; purely pomegranate (Stampin' Up!)

accessories; Butterfly ghost shapes (Heidi Swapp), Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon, Love and happiness rub ons (Stampin' Up!), Garden Pee Wee Glitter (Art Institue), Xyron
