I have a friend who has a birthday in January. I'm so glad a little birdie told me about it because the birthday girl is such a love!

I've been wanting to try a matchbook card for ages. And I've had Basic Grey's Periphery paper on my desk since I got it months ago, but it is such beautiful paper that I didn't want to wreck it - KWIM?!! Never mind that I have a full unit of the 12x12 packs and 3 of the 6x6 pads - that is irrelevant *sniff*... In my head, this paper is so beautiful that it hangs framed which makes it so difficult to cut into for me. Then I got this idea in my head for this card. PERFECTO!!!

I used always artichoke for the 4 1/4"x11" card base then scored it at 1" and at 6 1/8". I applied a 1"x4 1/4" strip of dp to the base of the matchbook. I punched two 1/2" circles and attached them to the card as shown with eyelets, no adhesive so that string can be wound in a figure 8 to close the card.

I sponged a little always artichoke around the edges of the largest layer, distressed the edges of the middle layer, and left the lovely brid alone - why mess with perfection! I used SU! Beachfront ribbon and a Basic Grey rub-on once the layers were attached to the card base. The sentiment was stamped with Flourished Words from Flourish and mounted in Pewter Hodge Podge Hardware.

So, Stamp-a-Stack is done and I have hostess club this coming Monday. I really prefer being organized because I never know what is going to be comin' my way and I don't like to rush my prep for my wonderful group of ladies.

I saw this colour combo in the 2008 Spring-Summer SU! Catalogue and thought - I'm in love!!! Well, it's the new Boho Backgrounds stamp set that I'm really infatuated with and this layout is inspired by the card on page 109 with that set. Well, they used One of a Kind with this card, but I have trouble getting my eyes higher than the Boho Backgrounds set - LOL!!!!

I used pretty in pink for the z-fold card base, close to cocoa and purely pomegranate for the layers. I used my Simply Said stamp set for this card, because I think it is perfect for this valentines card that I will be teaching the kissing technique to my clubs. I think they'll get a kick out of it. I stamped the solid heart with pretty in pink and kissed it with close to cocoa. I used pretty in pink taffeta ribbon and used SU! Sweet Thing for the sentiment.
