I was messing around with this layout. I think it must be one of the simplest, most versatile layouts out there. The embrace life card is the same sketch turned on it's ear - KWIM?
The embrace life card is the pretty cherry blossoms I envisioned the second I laid eyes on this set. I love it. I'm going to start playing with the bamboo leaves tomorrow. I coloured the image with my SU! chalks. I tried adding dp to this one, but every dp I tried ruined the look of it, so I decided simple, zen-like was the way to go. Why fight simple!!!
This kid card came together lickety-split fast. What to say? Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
The man card - GOSH!!! I though I was going to go loopy! This is the 4th incarnation of this card after 3 1/2 hours! *GACK* I pitched the other attempts as they were not even worth saving. Gonna have to trust me on that! Once I stopped trying to add green, it fell together. Tree=green, except on this card!!!! And I limited how much blue I was trying to add. As soon as I had a very disciplined colour palette, the card came together. I mucked around with tea dye, vintage photo and walnut stain on the stamp at the same time, then squirted water on it to allow the colours to blend well. I stamped the image and got a messy water colour look. Then I over-stamped in Encore copper so the tree had all the detail it had originally. Go-jus!!!! Then I stamped over the image with a little vintage photo and faded blue jean on the Sanded SU!background stamp. Oh Golly!!! A little distressing and sponging of the edges --- VOILA! a sight to behold, but what a pain getting there...
