Lacey Dragonfly

It took a day longer than I had hoped, but I'm done all my UFO's now. I know I am frequently asked how can I find time to do all the things I do, and all I can say is I only do what I must. I must homeschool my children (important life choice for my family or we would never be healthy). I must sew for my family and my business - my business sewing is optional, to be honest, but I want a cricut and I'm determined to not let this creative stuff I do impact my family budget, so I sew. I must be creative - it's a must or I start to twitch and lose my sanity.

I love this card. The dragonfly has been sitting for more than a month. He was coloured and sitting uncut on the paper. Last night I decided to take it easy and sat down with my stuff laid out before me for an evening of creating and watching TLC's What Not to Wear. You wouldn't believe how much that show has helped me figure out how to best dress and fit the many body types that come to me for seamstressing. I had all the paper pulled for this card since Thursday morning, but Friday got away from me as I was cleaning and doing a little packing. Friday night was all mine though! It was easy enough to cut and mount, but I felt the image was missing something. I dug out my Rhonna Farrer Flourishes and stamped with Versamark. I wanted a subtle lace effect, so I painted with spring green and interference gold. I think this is my favourite card to date - it's so soft and pretty.

Thank heaven for sanity saving! -- I get to use my new whippersnapper and papertrey stamps now...

Gorgeous!! I love dragonflies, and I've *almost* bought that image more times than I can count - this card may have just sent me over the edge next time I find it!
