Welcome to the 5th and final day of the Spellbinders Winter CHA 2015 Sneak Peek and Giveaway. I am so excited to showcase some of the new die template sets being released at the Winter Craft and Hobby Association trade show. You will have an opportunity to win the new die templates I have used by entering the contest by using the link at the bottom of this post. Join me as we conclude this fabulous Sneak Peek event with Richard Garay and Michelle Woerner!
I've
created 2 projects for you to demonstrate the versatility of Spellbinders Labels 47 and Labels 47 Decorative Elements die templates. Whether you are just learning to paper
craft or you are a paper artist with advanced skill and experience,
Spellbinders die templates are an excellent way to empower you to explore your
creative genius! Always experiment and challenge yourself to go beyond your dreams and your
artwork will be amazing!
This card uses Labels 47 and Labels 47 Decorative Elements and while it looks complicated it isn't, really. It is about layering up pieces of paper. That's it. I cut apart the large frame from Labels 47 Decorative Elements to create additional filagree elements. The sentiment was cut out using A2 Valiant Honor, which I think compliments the intricate cuts from Labels 47 Decorative Elements quite nicely.
Cut
8”x12” grey rectangle and score across the width at 6” down the long edge
to create a 8”x6” card base. Cut 5 ½” x 7 ½” square of ivory cardstock, 5
3/8”x7 3/8” skyline cardstock, 5 1/8”x 7 1/8” ivory rectangle, 5”x7”
pattern paper rectangle. Adhere the layers, apply ribbon, and adhere to
card base.

Cut 3 ½” x 3 ¼” grey rectangle. Cut 3 3/8” x 3 1/8” pattern paper rectangle. Adhere to grey, then adhere these layers to base using 3L foam dimensionals.
Cut
Labels 47 #4 in grey cardstock. Trace inside of Labels 47 #4 die template on pattern paper and
cut by hand. Adhere to grey, then adhere these layers to base using 3L
foam dimensionals.
Cut Labels 47 #3 in skyline cardstock. Cut Labels 47 Decorative Elements #1 in ivory cardstock. Adhere to skyline, then adhere these layers to base using 3L foam dimensionals, trimmed to fit. Adhere half back gold pearls.
Cut Valiant Honour #1 in Skyline cardstock and adhere to base using 3L foam dimensionals, slightly arching the paper. Stamp sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on ivory cardstock. Cut and emboss using Valiant Honour #2 die template. Use 3L foam dimensional squares to adhere to card as shown. Make bow and attach using Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive.
My second project using Labels 47 and Labels 47 Decorative Elements has a more spring or Easter theme to it.
As I was looking at the Labels 47 Decorative Elements, it occurred to me that the inset die (shown here under the star gazer lilies) looked like the wire mesh lids used on beautiful vintage rose bowls. From this thought, I was inspired to use the die in a similar fashion as both a functional and creative element for my card.
I invite you to return to my blog on December 17th for a tutorial to create this lovely spring card.
