I have another By Lori Designs project for you using an image from the June release.
I think Christian's little hat is da bomb!!!! It makes me think about the graduated sizes of bucket hat my son went through growing up. He's now a month away from 13 and doesn't wear bucket hats anymore. *sigh*
For the sandy strip, I pulled out a long neglected embellishment - Distress Embossing Powder. I love that stuff for just this purpose. Once applied, it feels like sandpaper without needing to sacrifice either my paper cutter blade or a pair of scissors to cut the real thing. DIVINE!
I haven't coloured an image with skin darker than my family's red headed pasty-white anti-sunshine fashion statement, so this was a stretch for me. I think he turned out pretty cute though and it gives me confidence to make a card a friend requested for her niece's 16th birthday and I'll be colouring it much like Christian. The texture on Christian's swim trunks was done by colouring as I normally would and, once the ink was dry, going back with my colourless blender marker and touching the pen to the green and letting the colourless solution do all the work! Easy peasy!

hat; Y23, Y26, Y28
