Oh people! Can you feel a bite in the air? Can you smell the homey-ness of apples ripening on the branch in the sun? Me either *snort* but I know it is just around the corner dag nabbit!
Today's Whachadoin' Wednesday challenge is to make a card that represents Fall to you... and tell why you chose what you did.
Around these parts, there are no beautiful maple forests that turn a palette of magnificent colours after the first hard frost. My first hard frost is about a week away and I need to get my crabapples in and make jelly. We have poplar trees in bulk, aspen groves up the wazoo and evergreens everywhere! That's a whole lotta brown and gold happening, hence my palette. I love walking in a natural reserve close to my home in autumn as the Aspens lose their leaves. I feels like being showered with gold leaf (pun could be intended...) and it is quite lovely!
Here's my fall card;
stamps; leaf it to me (SUINK)
paper; cardstock by core'dinations, blue awning (K&Co)
ink; espresso adirondack, tea dye, vintage photo distress ink (ranger)
accessories; aged copper brads (making memories), brown ribbons (martha stewart), gold charm (blue moon beads), hemp cord
Wow!! You have been working hard. Both of these creations are just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love your fall card! Both are wonderful! I know you could stand to wait for that frost but I for one am ready to see the summer heat give way to cool crisp nights which we are beginning to see! Love these~
